Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. This policy explains what information Quotd LLC ("Quotd", "we", "us") collects when you use quotdauto.com or engage our services, what we do with it, and what choices you have.

The short version: we collect only what we need to do our job — the details you give us in a booking form, the messages you send us, and basic privacy-friendly site analytics. We don't sell your data. We don't share your personal information with dealers or lenders except when you've asked us to negotiate on your behalf. We don't use third-party advertising cookies or behavioral tracking.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Booking and contact form data: name, email, phone (optional), ZIP code, vehicle details, current quote information, and any notes you add when you book a Deal Review, Full Negotiation, or message us through the "Talk to an advisor" form.
• Engagement communications: emails, text messages, and call notes from working with you on a specific deal.

Information collected automatically

• Site analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and cookieless. It aggregates page views, referring sites, country, and device type, but does not identify individual visitors or use cross-site tracking.
• Server logs: our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs IP addresses and request data for security and reliability purposes. These logs are retained briefly under Vercel's standard policies.

What we do NOT collect

• Social Security numbers or full driver's license numbers.
• Credit card or banking details directly. Payments are processed by a third-party processor; we receive a confirmation token, not your card data.
• Tracking cookies, third-party advertising IDs, or behavioral profiling data.

2. How we use your information

• To deliver the service you booked — including negotiating with a dealer on your behalf, if that's what you asked us to do.
• To communicate with you about your engagement, including emails, calls, and follow-ups.
• To improve our service quality and the site (in aggregate, not individual user-level).
• To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. When we share information

We share your information only in these specific cases:

• With dealers, only on your behalf and only to fulfill our service. When you hire us to negotiate, we will share whatever is necessary to make an offer — typically the make/model/trim you want and your trade-in details. We do not share your contact information with a dealer without your express direction.
• With service providers we use to run the business: our email service (Resend), our hosting and analytics provider (Vercel), and our payment processor. These providers are bound by their own privacy and security commitments and only process data as needed to provide their services.
• If required by law: in response to a valid legal request, subpoena, or court order.
• In a business transaction: if Quotd is acquired, merged, or transfers assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you if this happens.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the past 12 months and have no plans to do so.

4. How long we keep your information

We retain your information for as long as you are an active client and for a reasonable period afterward — typically up to seven years — to meet tax, accounting, and legal-defense obligations. After that we delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your information earlier; see section 6.

5. How we protect your information

We use standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate for a small advisory business: encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, vendor due diligence, and limited employee access. No system is perfectly secure; we do not warrant that your information cannot be accessed in a breach despite our safeguards.

6. Your choices and rights

You can:

• Ask us what personal information we have about you.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
• Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal retention requirements (for example, tax records we are legally required to keep).
• Opt out of email communications by replying "unsubscribe" or emailing us. We will still send transactional emails about an active engagement.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you live in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:

• Right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we share with.
• Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
• Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
• Right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. As noted above, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

To submit a request, email privacy@quotdauto.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will verify your identity using information already on file before processing.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies needed to run the site (for example, security and session cookies set by our hosting provider). We do not set tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. Our site analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) is cookieless.

8. Children

Our service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the site.
